Special Visit Visa on Arrival for Tourism or Visa on Arrival (VoA)

That to support government policies to reopen the tourism sector more broadly with the concept of sustainable tourism and to optimize the function of immigration as a facilitator of community welfare development, Directorate General of Immigration issue Circular Letter of the Directorate General of Immigration concerning Immigration Ease of Immigration to Supporting Sustainable Tourism During the Corona Virus Disease 2019 Pandemic.

In that circular letter, it is regulated to add a list of countries that can use a Special Visit Visa on Arrival for Tourism or Visa on Arrival (VoA) to enter Indonesia territory starting April 6, 2022 at 00.00 WIB. The list of these countries is as follows:

    1. Afrika Selatan
    2. Amerika Serikat
    3. Arab Saudi
    4. Argentina
    5. Australia
    6. Belanda
    7. Belgia
    8. Brazil
    9. Brunei Darussalam
    10. Denmark
    11. Filipina
    12. Finlandia
    13. Hungaria
    14. India
    15. Inggris
    16. Italia
    17. Jepang
    18. Jerman
    19. Kamboja
    20. Kanada
    21. Korea Selatan
    22. Laos
    23. Malaysia
    24. Meksiko
    25. Myanmar
    26. Norwegia
    27. Perancis
    28. Polandia
    29. Qatar
    30. Selandia Baru
    31. Singapura
    32. Seychelles
    33. Spanyol
    34. Swedia
    35. Swiss
    36. Taiwan
    37. Thailand
    38. Tiongkok
    39. Timor Leste
    40. Tunisia
    41. Turki

Visa on Arrival (VoA) can be applied directly by foreigners from the countries mentioned above at a rate of 35 USD or Rp. 500,000.00 upon arrival at the designated Immigration Checkpoints for Airports, Seaports and Cross-Border Posts, as follows:

Immigration Checkpoints for Airports:

    1. Soekarno Hatta in DKI Jakarta,
    2. Ngurah Rai in Bali,
    3. Kualanamu in Sumatera Utara,
    4. Juanda in Jawa Timur
    5. Hasanuddin in Sulawesi Selatan,
    6. Sam Ratulangi in Sulawesi Utara, dan
    7. Yogyakarta in D.I .Yogyakarta.

Immigration Checkpoints for Seaports

    1. Nongsa Terminal Bahari in Kepulauan Riau,
    2. Batam Centre in Kepulauan Riau,
    3. Sekupang in Kepulauan Riau,
    4. Citra Tri Tunas in Kepulauan Riau,
    5. Marina Teluk Senimba in Kepulauan Riau,
    6. Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi in Kepulauan Riau,
    7. Bandar Seri Udana Lobam in Kepulauan Riau, dan
    8. Sri Bintan Pura in Kepulauan Riau.

Immigration Checkpoints for Cross-Border Posts:

    1. Entikong in Kalimantan Barat,
    2. Aruk in Kalimantan Barat,
    3. Mota’in in Nusa Tenggara Timur, dan
    4. Tunon Taka in Kalimantan Utara.

Foreign citizens who use Visa on Arrival when entering Indonesian territory will automatically get a Visit Stay Permit  which valid for   a maximum   period of  30 (thirty) days that can be extended for a maximum of 1 (one) time extension for a period of 30 (thirty) days at the Immigration Office whose working area includes the residence of a foreigner and cannot be convert to Limited Stay Permit and foreigners who hold Visit Stay Permit form Visa on Arrival (VoA) cannot  apply for a new stay permit  through a visa application (Visa Onshore).  In other words, foreigners who hold Visit Stay Permit form Visa on Arrival (VoA)  after applying an extension in immigration office must leave Indonesia territory before  their stay permit expires.

In addition to the Special Visit Visa on Arrival for Tourism or Visa on Arrival (VoA) policy, The Directorate General of Immigration also stipulates 9 (nine) countries whose citizens can take advantage of the Special Free Visit Visa for tourism to enter Indonesia territory starting on 06 April 2022 00.00 WIB via the designated Airport Immigration Checkpoints, Seaports and Cross-Border Posts. The list of these countries is as follows:

    1. Brunei Darussalam,
    2. Filipina,
    3. Kamboja,
    4. Laos,
    5. Malaysia,
    6. Myanmar,
    7. Singapura,
    8. Thailand, dan
    9. Vietnam

Foreign citizens who use a Special Free Visit Visa for tourism when entering Indonesian territory will automatically get a Visit Stay Permit  which valid for   a maximum   period of  30 (thirty) days that cannot be extended, cannot be convert to Limited Stay Permit and foreigners who hold Special Free Visit Visa for tourism cannot  apply for a new stay permit  through a visa application (Visa Onshore). 

Free provision of Special Visit Visa for Tourism  and Special Visit Visa on Arrival for tourism is carried out by checking the following requirements :

    1. Nationality passport includes: Diplomatic Passport, Service Passport, or Ordinary Passport, which are valid with validity passport with minimum 6 (six) months.
    2. Return tickets or tickets to continue the journey to other countries,
    3. Proof of payment of non-tax state revenue for visit visas upon arrival, in the case of applying for a Special Visit Visa on Arrival for tourism or Visa on Arrival (VoA), and
    4. Proof of ownership insurance in accordance with the provisions of the Chair of  the Covid-19 Task Force;
    5. An invitation letter to attend a conference/trial/meeting issued by The Ministry/Institution/Agency of The Republic of Indonesia in case foreigners will carry out government duties in international activities of a state or government nature.
